Zakhmi Sher (1984) is a Hindi-language action-thriller directed by Dasari Narayana Rao. The film follows Major Vijay Kumar Singh (Jeetendra), a principled army officer who returns home to attend his mother’s funeral.  Upon learning that his sister is pregnant, he agrees to marry Anandi (Jayasudha), a mentally challenged woman, to protect her honor.  However, Vijay becomes disillusioned with the justice system after witnessing two crimes—an arson and a hit-and-run—that go unpunished.  His quest for justice leads him to uncover a shocking truth: his mother was murdered by none other than Swami Kashinath Singh (Amrish Puri), a revered spiritual leader who claims to be his biological father.  This revelation sets Vijay on a path of vengeance, challenging his moral compass and the very fabric of the legal system.
