Rockstar (2011) is a Hindi-language musical romantic drama directed by Imtiaz Ali. The film follows the journey of Janardan Jakhar (Ranbir Kapoor), a Delhi-based college student who aspires to become a rockstar.  He believes that enduring heartbreak is essential for artistic expression and thus seeks to experience it by falling in love with Heer Kaul (Nargis Fakhri), a Kashmiri Pandit girl.  Their tumultuous relationship leads to Janardan’s transformation into ‘Jordan,’ a passionate and rebellious rockstar.  The narrative explores themes of love, identity, and the complexities of fame.  The film’s music, composed by A. R. Rahman, became immensely popular, with songs like “Sadda Haq” resonating with audiences.  Rockstar received critical acclaim for its performances, direction, and music, and has since gained a cult following.
