Koyla (1997) is a Bollywood action-drama film directed by Rakesh Roshan. The story revolves around a mute man, Shankar (Shah Rukh Khan), who is forced into servitude by a cruel coal mine owner, Madho Singh (Amrish Puri). Shankar falls in love with a beautiful woman, Gauri (Madhuri Dixit), who is also a victim of Madho Singh’s tyranny. The film explores themes of revenge, love, and courage as Shankar fights against all odds to free himself and Gauri from Madho Singh’s grasp.
