Jhooth Bole Kauwa Kaate (1998) – Bollywood Movie

Jhooth Bole Kauwa Kaate is a light-hearted comedy-drama directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The film revolves around Abhyankar, a strict and traditional man who is highly suspicious of modern values. His daughter, Urmila, falls in love with a man named Abhijeet, but knowing her father’s rigid mindset, Abhijeet is forced to pretend to be someone he’s not to win his approval. This leads to a series of humorous situations, lies, and misunderstandings, as Abhijeet tries to maintain his false identity while keeping his love intact. The film marks one of the last directorial ventures of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and blends classic values with modern romantic comedy.
