Himmatwala (2013) is a Bollywood action-comedy film directed by Sajid Khan, serving as a remake of the 1983 film of the same name. Set in 1983, the story follows Ravi (Ajay Devgn), a courageous man who returns to his ancestral village, Ramnagar, to avenge the wrongful death of his father, Dharamurthy (Anil Dhawan), who was a respected temple priest.  Ravi discovers that his father was framed by the tyrannical landlord Sher Singh (Mahesh Manjrekar) for a robbery he didn’t commit, leading to his suicide.  Determined to seek justice, Ravi confronts Sher Singh’s corrupt family and exposes their wrongdoings.  The film blends action, drama, and comedy, paying homage to the masala films of the 1980s.
