“Fitoor” (2016) is a romantic drama directed by Abhishek Kapoor, inspired by Charles Dickens’ classic novel Great Expectations. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Kashmir, the story follows Noor, a poor but talented artist, who falls deeply in love with Firdaus, the daughter of a wealthy and emotionally distant woman, Begum Hazrat. As Noor rises in the art world, he remains haunted by his unrequited love and the class differences that separate them. The film explores themes of love, obsession, heartbreak, and betrayal, presented through lush visuals and poetic storytelling.
