Description

Dil Se (1998) is a Bollywood romantic thriller directed by Mani Ratnam. The film is set against the backdrop of insurgency in Northeast India and follows the intense, tragic love story of Amar (Shah Rukh Khan), a journalist for All India Radio, and Meghna (Manisha Koirala), a mysterious woman with a dark past. Amar falls deeply in love with Meghna at first sight, but she keeps pushing him away due to her secret involvement in a militant group. As Amar tries to win her over, he gets entangled in a dangerous world of political unrest and terrorism. The movie is known for its breathtaking cinematography, shot across picturesque locations like the deserts of Ladakh, the lush landscapes of Kerala, and the crowded streets of Delhi. One of its most iconic sequences is the song Chaiyya Chaiyya, filmed on a moving train through the Nilgiri Mountains, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Malaika Arora dancing atop a running locomotive.
